GMail for Windows is 100% free software (freeware)! I created it for myself, prior to Google or anyone else creating something as basic as providing a button from your Internet Explorer browser toolbar that whisks you to the official GMail login page with one click. GMail for Windows also creates a quick launch shortcut on your Windows taskbar and creates a desktop shortcut icon.
