Defensive Driving Online for Texas Residents (and other states too)

i got a speeding ticket driving back from visiting family in West Texas back around Thanksgiving… in the great Callahan County. it was a big one too… i almost exceeded the ability to take defensive driving… yikes. it’s a long story as to why i was speeding (by that much) but i’ll spare you… after all i was in the wrong, point blank, no doubt about it.

what i really want to mention is that i took defensive driving online and of the 3-4 times i’ve taken defensive driving it was by far the best experience. where did i take defensive driving online at… >> DefensiveDriving.com << go figure huh. here is some hype from their site: * Approved by all courts in Texas * Dismiss a traffic ticket * Reduce insurance rates * Obtain your driver record * Become a safer driver * Taken 100% on the Internet: never leave the comfort of your home or office * Flexible The course can be taken in 10-minute intervals or all at once * Convenient The course can be taken anywhere you have Internet access * Certificate of Completion US Mail or UPS is available * Technical Support Toll free, available 24-hours a day if you use the site i hope it's just to go above and beyond for your insurance company and not because you got a ticket like me... BTW... BUCKLE UP

  1. You? A speeding ticket? Say it isn’t so! lol

Incidentally, Callahan county is named for my great-great-grandfather on my dad’s side, James Hughes Callahan. He was a Texas ranger back in the day and was at the battle of Goliad. Anyway, not often someone mentions my only humble claim to fame, so I thought I’d seize the moment. lol

  2. wow thats very cool! seems like u should be able to eat at the local resturants for free or something cool like that… it makes me wonder how many relatives you have in Callahan County

    and yeah i know i can’t believe i got a speeding ticket 🙂

  3. How funny Buster…I didn’t think that you would speed…yeah right, haha.

Back at the end of 2004 I got a speeding ticket and I ended up at http://www.idrivesafely.com/ taking defensive driving. I liked the interface and it was easy. But I’ll have to tell you, it took me forever to get done. I lack the motivation it takes to do online classes. But I finally finished after about 3 months and everything was ok again.

  4. wow u really took your time huh benny. glad to know there is an alternative… i’ll have to remember to check them out next time i’m in need to compare prices.
