Dell’s IdeaStorm

Dell has opened up a great way for us to give them product feedback in a group environment. you can vote/promote ideas… and supposedly they’re listening. for example, i’ve long wanted to purchase a dell desktop without paying for, and recieving, a pre-installed OS. according to their IdeaStorm i’m not the only one… hopefully this is an option that will become a reality. if you wanna give Dell feedback >> http://www.dellideastorm.com

Google Calendar

i don’t know how useful this web app will be as a standalone product (probably a lot) but it will fit nicely with Googles continued efforts to seemingly transform the software world we have long known as “workstation” based into “web” based.

how many times can you post about a single company??? sheesh G is on a tear with their product lines… i’m telling ya… i don’t you can go wrong if you buy Google stock now and sit on it for a looooooong time

Google Word Processor Online – Writely

we knew it was a matter of time and now it’s even more evident… Google just bought up Writely (http://www.writely.com) an online word processor. i glanced at the features tour and it definitely looks like something that could be super handy… i think this is going to be great… because M$ is going to have to “compete” << new concept for M$ lately :D. so maybe we'll be seeing a M$ Word Web Edition...

Defensive Driving Online for Texas Residents (and other states too)

i got a speeding ticket driving back from visiting family in West Texas back around Thanksgiving… in the great Callahan County. it was a big one too… i almost exceeded the ability to take defensive driving… yikes. it’s a long story as to why i was speeding (by that much) but i’ll spare you… after all i was in the wrong, point blank, no doubt about it.

what i really want to mention is that i took defensive driving online and of the 3-4 times i’ve taken defensive driving it was by far the best experience. where did i take defensive driving online at… >> DefensiveDriving.com << go figure huh. here is some hype from their site: * Approved by all courts in Texas * Dismiss a traffic ticket * Reduce insurance rates * Obtain your driver record * Become a safer driver * Taken 100% on the Internet: never leave the comfort of your home or office * Flexible The course can be taken in 10-minute intervals or all at once * Convenient The course can be taken anywhere you have Internet access * Certificate of Completion US Mail or UPS is available * Technical Support Toll free, available 24-hours a day if you use the site i hope it's just to go above and beyond for your insurance company and not because you got a ticket like me... BTW... BUCKLE UP

Google Video

everybody is posting links to their fave clips on Google Video. i gotta say it’s a really neat part of Google. i’m wondering when MSN and Yahoo! will come out with a similar product (if they don’t already have one that i’m just not familar with). i’ve known about Google Video for a while, but just recently has it seemed to be loaded with a decent supply of interesting clips (free ones). there are clips that are for sale too, which i imagine will become more populated as Google can show success with their current limited supply. i just hope the free ones keep filling in, it’s nice being able to do keyword searches for video clips.

anyhow here’s a clip i dig:

UPDATE: Google bought YouTube (for $1.65B) and quit supporting video.google.com, so the link above no longer works. In fact, I couldn’t even find a different version of the vid on YouTube, but I did find it at DailyMotion.
